The Treaty was ratified for the purpose of promoting joint industrial R&D collaborations between companies in Korea and Israel that have potential to develop commercial projects or processes.

KORIL-RDF supports joint projects by disbursing cash grants up to 50% of the eligible R&D cost to a maximum USD 1M. These grants are subjected to repayment, up to but not beyond the total funded amount, should there be commercial revenues arising from the projects.
- 1st Phase KORIL Fund (Completed)
Period: 3 years (May 2001 ~ April 2004)
Size of fund: USD 1 million from each country, USD 6 million in total
- 2nd Phase KORIL Fund (Completed)
On July 22, 2003, 50% of fund raising and extension of the 2nd phase
  KORIL fund was decided. (MOU signed between vice ministers)
Period: 3 years (May 2004 ~ April 2007)
Size of Fund: USD1.5 million from each country, USD 9 million in total

Period: 3 years (May 2007 ~ April 2010)
Size of fund: USD 1.5 million from each country, USD 9 million in total
- 4th Phase KORIL Fund (Completed)
Period: 3 years (May 2010 ~ April 2013)
Size of fund: USD 1.5 million from each country, USD 9 million in total
- 5th Phase KORIL Fund (In Progress)
Period: 3 years (May 2013 ~ April 2016)
Size of fund: USD 2 million from each country, USD 12 million in total
